Nov 13th – Tim Chauvin & Vanessa Peters – Edom, Texas

Tim’s strong and melodic songsmithing brings a unique and thoughtful perspective to the people, places, and topics he writes about. His finely crafted lyrics take you by the hand and introduce you to each character in his songs. If you’re craving wonderfully written stories set to simple but beautiful arrangements, Tim’s vocals and melodies are a joy to the ear, and a window into the mind and soul of the kind of person you would want to call a friend. This is Tim’s return to The Old Firehouse stage after opening for Bill Ward in October 2009.

In a world made small by airplanes and email, Vanessa Peters is at home everywhere she goes – an essential trait for a wandering gypsy songwriter. Vanessa Peters’s music reflects the influences of growing up in Texas as much as it reflects how her music has matured out on the road. Voted as one of the top 10 folk artists in Austin a few years ago, Vanessa then packed her things, took her show on the road, and hasn’t looked back since. In the last three years, she has released three albums and played over 250 shows in 10 countries.
